Actor Suriya, who recently launched the promotions for Kanguva, has expressed his belief that the movie will be a groundbreaking moment for Tamil cinema. In a recent interview, Suriya said that he and the entire team behind the November 14th release are aware of the challenge they are up to.
“We are completely aware that we are entering a completely different world,” the actor of ‘Ghajini’ fame said.
Drawing comparisons to other successful pan-Indian films like Baahubali, RRR, and Kalki 2898 AD, Suriya highlighted his film’s potential to be a pioneering step for Tamil cinema. “For Kollywood, Kanguva will be that one big first step. We have seen it from other languages, but for Tamil, it’s time we do something as big as this. I don’t think anybody has introduced this world in a Tamil film,” the ‘NGK’ actor said.
The film is directed by ‘Siruthai’ Siva and is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja. This is the ultimate event film from Tamil. If it doesn’t live up to its expectations, ‘Kanguva 2’ will be a subdued sequel.
‘Kanguva’ also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. Its story is partly set in Goa.
