The wait for SSMB 29, the first-ever collaboration between SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu, just got even more exciting. The film, one of the most anticipated Indian movies of the decade, will hit theaters in over 120 countries, marking the widest global release for an Indian film. Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, revealed this update after meeting Rajamouli and his team.

Rajamouli’s Kenya Visit for SSMB 29

Rajamouli, his son SS Karthikeya, and a 120-member crew recently visited Kenya to scout and shoot crucial portions of the film. They explored iconic landscapes like the Masai Mara, Naivasha, Samburu, and Amboseli. The team decided to film nearly 95% of the African scenes in Kenya, turning it into one of the largest Asian productions ever shot on African soil.

During the visit, the filmmaker met Musalia Mudavadi. The minister praised him as a visionary storyteller whose films have already touched hearts across continents. In a social media post, Mudavadi proudly announced that Kenya had become a stage for one of the world’s greatest directors. He also highlighted how the crew’s choice to film there showcased Kenya’s beauty and hospitality on a global platform.

Global Release in 120 Countries

Mudavadi confirmed that SSMB 29 will release in 120 countries. This move surpasses Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which previously held the record for widest Indian release. Rajamouli aims to set a new benchmark for Indian cinema and expand the film’s reach far beyond traditional markets.

Industry sources reveal that the RRR director also plans extensive worldwide promotional tours to match the film’s scale. He wants to position SSMB 29 as a global action-adventure equal to Hollywood blockbusters.
