In an unexpected and emotional turn of events, the much-awaited wedding of India’s star cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely. The ceremony, scheduled to take place on Sunday evening at the Mandhana farmhouse in Samdol, Maharashtra, was called off after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a sudden heart attack during last-minute preparations.
According to sources, the incident occurred around 1:30 PM, when Srinivas Mandhana complained of pain on the left side of his chest. An ambulance was rushed to the venue, and he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. Doctors performed an angioplasty as his condition was considered critical at the time. Fortunately, he is now reported to be stable and under observation.
Given the medical emergency, the Mandhana family decided to halt all wedding festivities without delay. Decorations and arrangements at the farmhouse were removed soon after the announcement.
Both families have requested the media and fans to respect their privacy during this difficult time. They also stated that a new wedding date will be announced only after Srinivas Mandhana makes a complete recovery.
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal have been in a relationship since 2024 and publicly announced their engagement shortly after India’s victory in the 2025 Women’s World Cup. Just days before the wedding, a heartfelt video of Smriti and Palash at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai had gone viral, adding to the celebrations and public excitement.
For now, fans across the country are sending wishes for a speedy recovery to Smriti’s father, hoping the couple can soon celebrate their big day under happier circumstances.
