Actor Siva Balaji recently shared his experience working on the highly anticipated mythological film Kannappa, starring Vishnu Manchu and featuring Prabhas in a major role. With the film just days away from its grand release, Siva revealed exciting behind-the-scenes details and gave fans a closer look at what they can expect.

Prabhas Shines with a 40-Minute Role in Kannappa

Siva revealed that Prabhas appears on screen for a solid 40 minutes, which gives his character far more weight than a typical cameo. From his dramatic entry to the climax, Prabhas dominates key scenes with power and depth. Siva emphasized how Prabhas’ strong presence lifts the film and leaves a lasting impact on the audience.

Vishnu Manchu Drives Every Element of the Film

Siva credited Vishnu Manchu for driving every part of the film with full control and passion. He pointed out how Vishnu not only played the lead role but also shaped the story, managed the production, and fine-tuned the execution. Vishnu handled everything, from casting to scheduling, with care, ensuring the film delivered a powerful mix of devotion, drama, and visual grandeur.

Siva Balaji Joins Kannappa After a Casual Lunch

Siva explained that he didn’t originally have a role in Kannappa. During a casual lunch with Mohan Babu and Vishnu, Mohan Babu suggested they include him. Vishnu quickly found the right fit, and Siva took on the role of Kumaradeva Sastry, the son of Mohan Babu’s character Mahadeva Sastry. To shape his performance, Siva studied Mohan Babu’s intense and strict personality and reflected that in his own role.

Shooting in New Zealand Added Magic

The team filmed large portions of Kannappa in New Zealand, covering scenic locations like Rotorua and Wanaka. Siva clarified that the team leased 7,000 acres for the shoot, debunking jokes about Mohan Babu owning the land. He also shared how the team bonded while cooking meals together during their wedding anniversaries, creating a family-like atmosphere on set.

Mohanlal and Akshay Kumar Make Strong Contributions

According to Siva, Mohanlal’s entry gives the story a new direction, injecting fresh energy. Akshay Kumar, who plays Lord Shiva, delivers his dialogues with simplicity and power. Siva highlighted that the film offers a blend of emotional, spiritual, and visually gripping scenes that will leave viewers with goosebumps.

Why Siva Finally Said Yes to Kannappa

Siva admitted that he took two days to decide before accepting the role. After a frank conversation with Vishnu and encouragement from his wife, he chose to take part in the project. He now feels grateful for that decision, as skipping this film would have left him with deep regret. He also helped the team behind the scenes, especially with food arrangements, even bringing a chef to ensure everyone ate well.
