Payal Rajput has alleged that a distributor recently insisted that she “showcase” her “assets” in the upcoming movie ‘Rakshana’. In ‘Rakshana’, which could hit the theatres in June, Payal will be seen in a power-packed role.
The film in question was originally titled ‘5Ws’. It should have been released in 2020 but has been delayed due to the pandemic and other issues. It is now going to be released and Payal says that she hasn’t authorized or consented to its release.
The producers of the film, as per Payal, want her to participate in promotional activities. However, her dues are yet to be cleared. Artists have the right to decline participation in dubbing and promotions if their financial dues are not honoured by the producer.
Payal, known for ‘RX 100’ and ‘Mangalavaaram’, is now mooting legal action against the unnamed individuals if she continues to be forced to participate in promotions. “They have also threatened to ban me from the Telugu film industry in case I don’t do what they are asking me to,” Payal wrote.
