Sekhar Kammula's Movie, Kuberaa Movie

Kuberaa, the biggest-budget film ever for both Sekhar Kammula and Dhanush, is on track to become one of the most exciting releases of 2025. The film will hit theaters worldwide on June 20, and the buzz surrounding it continues to grow rapidly. Insider reports confirm that the film’s output looks exceptionally strong, with Sekhar Kammula boldly stepping out of his usual style to create something grand and unprecedented.

Kuberaa’s Record Budget and Star Cast Fuel the Hype

With a massive budget of Rs 130 crore, Kuberaa stands as a landmark project in both Kammula’s and Dhanush’s filmographies. This social thriller, shot in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, promises a wide reach across multiple markets. The makers, Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao of Amigos Creations, have backed this big-ticket venture with full confidence.

The film stars a powerhouse ensemble — Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. The team aims to deliver a strong pan-India appeal with its gripping narrative and multilingual release.

Remuneration Costs Push Budget Higher

The makers spent a significant Rs 60 crore just on the main cast and crew salaries. Dhanush takes home Rs 30 crore, the highest of his career so far. Nagarjuna, who plays a vital role, receives Rs 14 crore, also his most lucrative deal yet. Since Kammula specifically wanted Nagarjuna in the film, the team agreed to meet his demand.

Rashmika Mandanna earns Rs 4 crore, while music director Devi Sri Prasad charges Rs 3 crore. The technical team includes cinematographer Niketh Bommireddy, editor Karthika Srinivas, and production designer Thota Tharani, all known for delivering top-notch work.

Big Spending Meets Early Revenue Success

The production team shot Kuberaa in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bangkok, extending the schedule to ensure high-quality visuals and a polished finish. Even with high production costs, the film has already recovered a major part of its budget. OTT and Hindi rights alone brought in Rs 90 crore, placing Kuberaa well on its way to profitability.

With Telugu theatrical and Tamil distribution rights still pending, the film has the potential to become a blockbuster long before its release. If the current buzz holds, Kuberaa could easily emerge as one of the most successful films of the year.
