Noted TV actor RK Sagar, who rose to fame with his iconic role as RK Naidu in the Telugu serial Mogilirekulu, has made a strong comeback to the big screen with his latest movie The 100. While promoting the film, which hits theaters this Friday, Sagar opened up about a bitter experience he faced while working on Prabhas’ film Mr. Perfect. His honest revelations have grabbed the attention of fans and industry watchers alike.
Mr. Perfect Role Turned Out Imperfect for Sagar
After Mogilirekulu gained massive popularity, Sagar eagerly tried to enter the film industry as a hero. At that time, the team of Mr. Perfect, a big-budget film starring Prabhas, offered him the second lead role. “They promised me a solid character,” Sagar said. “Even though I was busy shooting 25 days a month for my TV serial, I somehow managed to adjust 15 days for this project.”
However, once he reached the film’s set, things started going wrong. “They made me wait for three days without shooting a single scene. Whenever I asked, they kept saying ‘tomorrow’. That happened again and again,” he recalled.
Director’s Response Left Him Shocked
What hurt Sagar the most was how the team suddenly changed the script. “The role they described to me was completely different from what they actually shot. When I questioned director Dasaradh, he simply said, ‘Characters change, please understand,’” Sagar revealed. Feeling misled and sidelined, Sagar even asked the team to remove his scenes. “I told them clearly, this isn’t the debut I wanted. But they still kept my portions,” he added.
A Lesson That Pushed Him Forward
Sagar considers the Mr. Perfect experience a major disappointment. “I made a mistake by acting in that film. I realized that without strong backing, the film industry can be cruel,” he admitted. However, he also said that the tough time motivated him to focus on lead roles in future projects. He later acted in movies like Siddhartha and Shaadi Mubarak, though those films didn’t give him a big break.
Now, with The 100 creating buzz, especially after Power Star Pawan Kalyan launched its trailer, Sagar feels hopeful that this film will mark a turning point in his cinema journey.
