Revanth Reddy Vows to Turn Hyderabad Into India’s Film Capital, Honors Tollywood National Award Winners

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy renewed his promise to transform Hyderabad into India’s leading hub for cinema. On Monday, he personally felicitated Tollywood artists who won big at the 71st National Film Awards. He assured the film fraternity that his government will extend full support to strengthen the industry and establish Hyderabad as the undisputed center of Indian cinema.

Hyderabad to Rise as India’s Film Capital

Revanth Reddy declared that Hyderabad must move beyond its role as a regional hub and rise as a global destination for filmmaking. He revealed that the government has already begun key initiatives to make this vision a reality. His plan includes modern infrastructure, stronger institutional support, and policies that simplify the filmmaking process.

Felicitation of National Award Winners

At his residence, Revanth Reddy honored Tollywood’s proud National Award winners. The winners included:

Anil Ravipudi, director of Bhagavanth Kesari

Prashanth Varma, director of HanuMan

Venkat and Srinivas, visual effects specialists for HanuMan

Fight Masters Nandu and Prithvi

Sai Rajesh, director of Baby

Singer Rohit, who performed the hit track Premistunna

Producers such as Chaitanya Reddy and Niranjan Reddy (HanuMan), SKN (Baby), and Garapati Sahu (Bhagavanth Kesari) also joined the event. The filmmakers used the occasion to directly share the hurdles they face, especially while seeking shooting permissions from multiple government departments.

Government Push for Film Industry Growth

Revanth Reddy assured the filmmakers that his government will immediately address such issues. He reminded them that in June, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who chairs the Ministerial Sub-Committee on film industry development, instructed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to convert Hyderabad into the capital of Indian cinema.

The Deputy CM also highlighted the problems filmmakers face in approaching separate offices like the police, fire services, and municipal bodies. To fix this, the government will roll out a single-window clearance system under the Film Development Corporation. The system will include a dedicated officer who will coordinate with all departments and provide approvals without delay.

Tollywood’s Bright Road Ahead

Tollywood’s success at the National Film Awards showcased the industry’s growing national presence. Revanth Reddy praised the winners and urged them to dream bigger. He said Hyderabad already commands respect in Indian cinema, but with strong government backing, the city can evolve into the true film capital of India.
