Renu Desai Slams Killing of Street Dogs, Calls It Unfair and Inhumane

Actress Renu Desai has strongly condemned the reported killing of street dogs, calling the practice unfair, insensitive, and inhumane. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, she expressed deep anger over animals being targeted in the name of public safety.

Renu questioned the logic behind blaming street dogs for accidents and attacks, stating that societal problems are never solved by eliminating an entire group. She pointed out that many factors cause loss of human life every day, yet such extreme measures are never considered in those cases.

According to her, punishing all street dogs for the actions of a few is neither humane nor logical. She emphasized that only a small number of dogs display aggressive behavior and that dealing with those specific cases does not justify mass killings. She also noted that data related to deaths from road accidents, diseases, and animal attacks is easily available and clearly shows that dogs are being unfairly singled out.

The actress further alleged that hundreds of sterilized street dogs in and around Hyderabad have already been killed without valid reasons. She expressed anguish over the fact that animals have no voice to defend themselves, which makes them easy targets.

Renu stated that if genuinely dangerous dogs are identified, animal welfare groups like hers are ready to take responsibility and care for them. Responding to questions on social responsibility, she revealed that she has been helping orphaned children for several years without seeking publicity.

She also questioned why people who speak loudly against street dogs often remain silent on serious social issues such as alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and road safety. Renu Desai’s strong remarks sparked intense reactions, with several animal lovers expressing solidarity with her during the media interaction.
