The pre-release event of Roshan Kanakala’s upcoming film, Mowgli, directed by Sandeep Raj, was held last night, with Rana Daggubati, Maruthi, Ravikanth Perepu, and several other industry figures in attendance. The team also revealed that tickets for the movie will be priced at just ₹99.
Speaking emotionally about the journey, director Sandeep Raj highlighted the immense effort behind the project and the challenges he faced during the five-year gap after his debut film Colour Photo. He expressed gratitude to producer Vishwa Prasad for his unwavering support and praised Roshan Kanakala for his dedication to the role. “This movie is like enjoying biryani with the perfect killi as a finishing touch. If Akhanda 2 is biryani, then Mowgli is that Meenakshi paan that delivers the punch,” he said.
Roshan Kanakala lauded Rana as a true torchbearer of the Telugu film industry for consistently supporting small films. He also appealed to Balakrishna fans to support Mowgli. “For me, cinema is an obsession, and acting is my passion. Sandeep has been under tremendous pressure, but Vishwa Prasad stood by him completely. Sakshi, in her debut role as a mute and deaf girl, delivered an outstanding performance. Harsha didn’t just act he lived the character. Bandi Saroj is a lion on screen, and we’ve built a strong bond through this film.
Mowgli is a story of a man’s fight for love. We all battle for love, career, passion, or self-respect. People may try to discourage us, but we must rise above it. I urge everyone to support Mowgli and make it a success.”
Rana Daggubati spoke about his long-standing association with Sandeep Raj and the film’s technical team. “Cinematographer Maruthi, who worked on Baahubali, has done a fantastic job. I’ve known Sandeep since before he became a director. His earlier film was remarkable, and I understand why the five-year gap might feel discouraging. But time is temporary movies are forever. Colour Photo will live on, and so will Mowgli.
Roshan feels like my own brother. Watching him in the trailer reminded me of the same spark I saw in Charan during Chirutha. To all Telugu audiences this weekend, the entire jungle is with you. The lion roars on the 12th, and Mowgli arrives on the 13th.”
Director Maruthi also extended his best wishes to the cast and crew for the film’s release.
