Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is backing an ambitious period action-creature film, but the bigger surprise comes from the director’s chair. Neha Sharma, who debuted in Chirutha opposite Ram Charan, now steps behind the camera for the first time. Now Neha begins a bold new journey as a director. She will lead a period creature drama that will stream on a leading OTT platform. Reports confirm that the story takes place in 1945, during the final phase of India’s independence struggle. Initially, the makers approached Ajay Devgn for a parallel lead role. Instead of signing on as an actor, Devgn chose to produce the film under his own banner. His decision immediately boosted the project’s profile, since Devgn consistently backs big-budget and unique stories.

The movie casts Siddhant Chaturvedi, known for Gehraiyaan, in the lead role. Mohit Raina, who impressed audiences with Uri: The Surgical Strike and The Freelancer, takes on another key character. The team has already started pre-production and plans to begin shooting in October 2025. The makers target a 2026 OTT release.

Besides Chirutha, Neha acted in Kurradu (2009), a remake of Polladhavan, where she played the female lead. She also made a cameo appearance in Hi Nanna (2023).
