Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi has quickly become one of the most talked-about movies of 2025. The film’s teaser, released recently, sparked major excitement—especially a dramatic cricket shot by Ram Charan that fans turned into a trending GIF during IPL matches.
The teaser also revealed the official release date: March 27, 2025. As the buzz continues, director Buchi Babu Sana shared fresh insights about how Ram Charan came on board and why the script instantly clicked with him.
Ram Charan Instantly Approved the Script
Buchi Babu Sana began writing Peddi during the COVID-19 lockdown. He crafted a story blending real-life village experiences with fictional elements. Once he completed the script, he narrated it to filmmaker Sukumar, who immediately recognized its emotional power and urged him to take it to Ram Charan.
“When I narrated the script to Charan sir, he listened with full focus,” said Buchi Babu. “He connected with the character deeply and felt the emotional pulse of the story. He green-lit the script in the first narration itself and only made a few small suggestions.”
Rooted Story With Strong Emotional Appeal
Buchi Babu designed Peddi as more than just a film. He built it as a story rooted in Indian culture, emotions, and village life. “I always aim to tell stories that feel real and grounded,” he explained. “When a story feels rooted, it creates stronger emotional reactions and reaches a larger audience. If people connect to even one moment, the story becomes unforgettable.”
The teaser shows Ram Charan in a rugged village look. He walks onto a dusty cricket ground, lights a beedi, and says, “I have only one life to live, and I want to make the most of it.” The final scene—where he taps his bat on the pitch before smashing a six—ignited strong fan reactions online.
All-Star Team and Huge Expectations
Peddi marks Ram Charan’s 16th film and features a star-studded cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu, and Jagapathi Babu. Music maestro AR Rahman is composing the soundtrack, while ace cinematographer Rathnavelu is handling the visuals. Top production houses Mythri Movie Makers, Vriddhi Cinemas, and Sukumar Writings are producing the film.
Shiva Rajkumar, who recently recovered from cancer, will join the team soon. The crew already completed two schedules and is getting ready for the next shoot.
