Director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed during a promotional event that he included the song ‘Monica’, featuring Pooja Hegde and Soubin Shahir, purely for commercial reasons. Unlike the song Kaavaalaa from Jailer, where Rajinikanth had the opportunity to dance, Coolie didn’t offer such scope. Lokesh clarified that Soubin’s character created the right situation for this special number, although he usually avoids such songs in his films.

Coolie has taken a phenomenal start in advance ticket sales. According to Bollywood Hungama, fans in the US have already bought 1.2 million dollars worth of tickets, putting it far ahead of War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr, which has earned only 205K dollars so far. Kalanithi Maran is producing Coolie under the Sun Pictures banner. The team will release the film on August 14, 2025, in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
