Raasi Responds to Anasuya Comments: Addresses Shivaji Controversy and Viral Skit

The recent controversy surrounding Tollywood actor Shivaji’s remarks on heroines’ dressing without naming anyone sparked widespread debate online. While many reacted strongly to his comments, the issue took another turn when singer Chinmayi and anchor Anasuya weighed in. Supporters rallied behind them, but others criticized their interventions, highlighting past examples and videos of Anasuya’s comments on comedy shows.

One particular video has gone viral: during a skit on a show, Hyper Aadi asks, “Are you talking about Raasi garu’s fruits?” to which Anasuya responds, prompting Aadi to clarify, “Those are horoscopes, not Raasi garu’s fruits.” Netizens immediately flagged the exchange as inappropriate.

Now, veteran actress Raasi has responded to the video and the Shivaji controversy. She stated that she doesn’t feel the need to comment on everything that comes her way and would rather speak on matters concerning herself. Raasi emphasized that Shivaji’s comments were “100% wrong.” She clarified that her name was unintentionally mentioned in two words that slipped out, for which an apology was already given.

Raasi further explained her side regarding the skit: “I received a call from a channel to participate in a segment for the movie Preyasi Raave. They wanted me to do a skit, but I requested that certain topics be avoided. Every artist has their own work, and I didn’t want to misrepresent myself, especially for young fans who recognize me from Preyasi Raave.”

She added, “I told them I could attend as a judge, but performing the skit was not possible. Yet, the skit went ahead. The term ‘Raasi garu’s fruits’ was asked by the anchor, and I was taken aback. How can someone ask a woman that? My name is Vijayalakshmi, not part of the so-called ‘Raasi fruits.’ Even then, the anchor continued, and everyone laughed, including the judge. I would have reacted differently if I were on stage.”

Raasi made it clear that while comedy is acceptable, body-shaming is never justified, not even towards parents. She even considered taking legal action but decided against it after reflecting on the situation. Her candid response has now gone viral across social media.
