Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran is all set to collaborate with SS Rajamouli in an upcoming massive project. Speculation about his involvement had been growing ever since he posted a clean-shaven picture on social media. His mother, veteran actress Mallika Sukumaran, finally confirmed the news, putting an end to all the rumors.

Mallika Sukumaran Confirms Prithviraj’s Role in Rajamouli’s Film

Prithviraj’s recent Instagram post sparked curiosity among fans, especially because he hinted at working in a language that is not his native tongue. The excitement grew when a fan suggested his new look was AI-generated. Mallika Sukumaran swiftly responded, saying, “It’s not AI. His next is a Rajamouli film.” She also mentioned that he was leaving for the project that night.

Although Prithviraj had previously dismissed reports about joining Mahesh Babu’s SSMB29, his mother’s confirmation now suggests that he is indeed part of Rajamouli’s ambitious film.

Prithviraj’s Cryptic Post Fuels Speculation

Before the confirmation, Prithviraj himself had shared a cryptic post about his transformation. He wrote, “Finish and hand over the film and all marketing assets on your directorial. Get into appearance for your next as an actor. Realize you have long monologues in a language that’s not native to you and start becoming nervous.”

This message strongly hinted at his involvement in a major non-Malayalam project, which aligns with the details of SSMB29, a massive jungle adventure film featuring Mahesh Babu in the lead role.

SSMB29: A Mega-Budget Spectacle

Rajamouli’s SSMB29 is expected to be a two-part pan-Indian cinematic event, with a staggering budget of Rs 900–1000 crore. The movie is reportedly set in a jungle and inspired by the Indiana Jones franchise. As per reports, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been cast as the female lead. The first part is expected to release in 2027, with the second following in 2029.

Prithviraj’s Other Upcoming Projects

Apart from SSMB29, Prithviraj is also gearing up for the release of L2: Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to Lucifer. The movie, featuring Mohanlal as Ab’raam Khureshi, is scheduled for release on March 27. Additionally, Prithviraj will also be seen in Vilayath Buddha, further expanding his filmography.

With Rajamouli’s confirmation and Prithviraj’s upcoming releases, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the actor.
