Tamil cinema buzzes with excitement as Prabhu Deva and Vadivelu reunite after nearly two decades for a brand-new film. The team launched the project in Dubai with a traditional pooja ceremony, which instantly grabbed the attention of fans, industry insiders, and media. Their comeback as an on-screen pair revives a duo that once defined Tamil entertainment with iconic comedy sequences and family entertainers.
Launch of the New Project
The makers titled the film Production No. 4 for now. Sam Rodrigues writes and directs the film, while KRG Kannan Ravi and Deepak Ravi produce it under KRG Productions. Several prominent names from Tamil cinema, including Lyca Productions’ Subaskaran, Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja, actor Jiiva, and director Nitish Sahadev, joined the Dubai pooja and highlighted the grand scale of this venture.
A Grand Team Behind the Film
The makers promise a full-fledged action-adventure that blends Prabhu Deva’s dance and action persona with Vadivelu’s unmatched comedy timing. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music, which adds another exciting highlight. On the technical side, Vignesh Vasu handles cinematography, Anthony edits the film, and celebrated stunt master Peter Hein choreographs the action sequences.
The cast also features Babloo Prithveeraj, who won appreciation for his performance in Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace. He plays a pivotal role in this film.
Reunion After Two Decades
Prabhu Deva and Vadivelu last shared the screen in the early 2000s. They delivered memorable hits like Kaadhalan (1994), Love Birds (1995), Mr Romeo (1996), Kaathala Kaathala (1998), Manadhai Thirudivittai (2001), and Engal Anna (2004). Apart from acting together, they also joined forces when Vadivelu appeared in Prabhu Deva’s directorial ventures Pokkiri and Villu.
Their reunion triggers nostalgia among Tamil audiences, who still cherish their impeccable chemistry and comic timing. This film not only brings them together again after almost 20 years but also unites them with Yuvan Shankar Raja for the first time since Manadhai Thirudivittai in 2001.
Shooting and Release Plans
The team plans to begin shooting in November this year and aims to complete the film in a single schedule. The producers intend to finish the project quickly while maintaining high production quality. With a strong technical crew and the legendary comic-action duo leading the story, the expectations for this film continue to rise.
Tamil cinema fans now wait eagerly for this Prabhu Deva, Vadivelu reunion, hoping it delivers the same laughter, energy, and magic that made their earlier films unforgettable.
