In a massive update about The Raja Saab, director Maruthi shared new details that have turned up the excitement. With Prabhas in the lead role, this upcoming horror-comedy goes beyond being just another big-budget film, it tells a generational tale that blends supernatural thrills with deep family emotions. And here’s the twist: Prabhas will play both a grandfather and a grandson in the same film.

The Raja Saab: A Horror-Comedy Rooted in Generations

Maruthi confirmed that The Raja Saab focuses on three main characters, a grandfather, a grandmother, and a grandson, who all connect through a mysterious ancestral property. The teaser already gave fans a glimpse of haunted visuals and royal themes, but the actual story moves between the past and present. Prabhas appears in two unique roles, and one of them shows him as an elderly man with a powerful transformation that Maruthi believes will thrill audiences.

A 200-Year-Old Haunted Palace Brings the World to Life

The team chose a real 200-year-old palace near Hyderabad for the shooting instead of using computer-generated sets. This historic 42,000 sq. ft. palace adds real weight to the film’s spooky tone. It includes gothic-style rooms, a black magic chamber with real fire, a torture room, hanging roots in the corridors, a huge library, and abandoned royal bedrooms.

Maruthi shared that the crew drew inspiration from old mansions, classic literature, and real-life architectural styles. He revealed, “Over 1,000 people worked on the design. We created countless drafts and sketches to finalize this palace. We wanted the visuals to match Prabhas’s larger-than-life screen presence.”

Maruthi Nears Completion With Songs and Star Cast in Place

People Media Factory is backing The Raja Saab on a grand scale. Thaman is composing the music and plans to bring a fun and vibrant sound to the film. Maruthi still needs to shoot two songs, and he plans to complete them shortly.

The film stars Riddhi Kumar, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Malavika Mohanan as the female leads, each playing strong characters alongside Prabhas. The team has locked the release date for December 5, 2025, and is preparing for a spectacular launch.
