In Andhra Pradesh, alliances and rifts are shaping up as three parties gear up for the elections. As each vies for supremacy, tensions are simmering even before the campaign frenzy fully kicks in. With the parties engaged in intense campaigning, clashes have already erupted in the political arena.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is facing internal strife as factionalism threatens to divide its ranks. Meanwhile, the opposition parties, including the Telugu Desam, BJP, and Jana Sena, are also vying for dominance.
In Nandyal district, clashes between different factions within the TDP have escalated. From disputes over land to physical altercations, the situation has turned volatile. The TDP candidate, Surya Prakash Reddy, has been warned to withdraw his candidacy, leading to clashes between rival factions. Despite efforts to mediate, the situation remains tense, with Surya Prakash Reddy’s car being attacked.
In Vishakhapatnam district’s Bhimili constituency, members of the Jana Sena Party faced severe humiliation during a campaign rally. They were pelted with stones by TDP supporters as they attempted to campaign from a promotional vehicle. The absence of party flags during the rally raised questions among Jana Sena supporters, who accused TDP members of sabotaging their campaign. This incident has heightened tensions between the two parties.
In Denduluru, former MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, who recently switched allegiance from the TDP to the Jana Sena Party, expressed his displeasure with the party leadership. He warned them to either mend their ways or be prepared to face consequences. These developments have added to the growing unease within the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
With polling dates drawing closer, the political arena is witnessing intensified clashes as alliances and rivalries take center stage.
