Actress Payal Rajput, known for her performances in RX 100 and Mangalavaaram, is set to star in a new pan-India film titled “Venkatalachimi”. This highly anticipated project, written and directed by Muni, was officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony at Ramanaidu Studios, Hyderabad, on Thursday.
About the Film
Venkatalachimi is an action revenge drama centered on a tribal girl, played by Payal. The film promises a gripping storyline with strong emotions. The director, Muni, expressed confidence in Payal as the perfect choice for the lead role. Raja and NS Choudhary are producing the film, while Saurabhh Dhingra has been cast as the male lead. Vikas Badisha will compose the music.
The film will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, ensuring a wide reach across India.

At the event, Payal shared her excitement, stating, “When Muni narrated the script, I was captivated. This story is so powerful that people may remember me as Venkatalachimi forever. I believe this project will elevate my career to the next level.”
Payal’s Recent Work
Payal Rajput was last seen in the 2023 Telugu-language film Mangalavaaram, an erotic psychological thriller directed by Ajay Bhupathi. The movie was a box office success, earning recognition in multiple languages. Since then, Payal has been selective with her scripts, rejecting many until she found the right one in Venkatalachimi.
Upcoming Projects
Apart from Venkatalachimi, Payal has several other films in the pipeline. Golmaal, a Tamil film co-starring Jiiva and Shiva. The first single has been released, but the movie’s release date is pending. Angel, another Tamil project currently under production.
Kirathaka, a crime thriller co-starring Aadi Saikumar, directed by Veera Bhadram. The project was announced in 2021 but has faced delays.
