Ippatam village holds a significant place in Andhra Pradesh’s recent political history. Back in 2022, when opposition parties were struggling for space, the village bore the brunt of political vendetta for hosting a JanaSena Foundation event. Under the then YSRCP administration, several houses in Ippatam were demolished in the name of road widening, triggering widespread outrage.

The incident became a turning point in state politics after JanaSena chief Pawan Kalyan undertook a dramatic over-the-car march to Ippatam in solidarity with the villagers. The visuals from that protest went on to become iconic, igniting a renewed political momentum for JanaSena and marking the beginning of a fierce fightback.

Fast forward to the present, Pawan Kalyan returned to Ippatam this time as Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister for what turned into an emotional homecoming. His visit symbolised not just political victory, but the fulfilment of promises made during a difficult phase.

One of the most touching moments of the day was his visit to the home of Nageswaramma, a victim of the 2022 demolitions, who had then referred to Kalyan as her son. Staying true to his word, Pawan Kalyan spent time with the family and announced that he would personally provide ₹5,000 per month from his own salary as financial assistance. He also handed over immediate cash support, requesting that it be used for the education of the children in the family.

Moved by the gesture, the elderly woman once again showered her blessings on Kalyan, expressing her hope that he would one day become Chief Minister and serve multiple terms.

Pawan Kalyan’s return to Ippatam stands as a powerful full-circle moment revisiting the village that reignited his political resolve and played a key role in JanaSena’s historic resurgence. The visit not only carried emotional weight but also reinforced his image as a leader who remembers his roots and honours his commitments.
