Dhanush has unveiled the trailer for his latest directorial venture, Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). The film, a coming-of-age romantic drama, marks his return to direction after Pa Paandi (2017) and Raayan (2024). In the trailer, Dhanush describes it as a “usual love story,” but hints at an unexpected twist.

A Love Triangle with a Twist

The film follows Prabhu (played by Pavish), a young chef who falls in love with Priya’s character. However, his past comes back to haunt him when his ex-girlfriend, Anikha’s character, prepares to marry another man. This triggers jealousy and emotional turmoil, leading to unexpected turns in the story. Sarathkumar plays Anikha’s father, adding to the drama.

Dhanush has written, directed, and produced NEEK under his banner Wunderbar Films, alongside Kasthuri Raja and Vijayalakshmi Kasthuri from RK Productions. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the film’s music.

Originally, the movie was supposed to be directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth in 2016, with Dhanush in the lead. However, the project never took off. Later, Dhanush revived it in 2023, giving it a fresh cast and new direction.

NEEK also features a special appearance by Priyanka Arul Mohan in the song Golden Sparrow, while Dhanush makes a cameo.
