Netflix has reportedly bagged the OTT rights to two of the most awaited Telugu action dramas of 2025, Kingdom starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mass Jathara featuring Ravi Teja and Sreeleela. Backed by Sithara Entertainments, both films have already sealed their digital streaming deals with the global platform. This move reflects Netflix’s aggressive expansion into the growing Telugu content market.
Kingdom OTT Deal and Release Date
Director Gowtam Tinnanuri, best known for Jersey, helms the spy action drama Kingdom. The film will hit theatres on July 31, 2025. Industry sources claim Netflix bought its digital rights for a massive Rs 50 crore, though some reports suggest the figure might be closer to Rs 20 crore. Netflix also plans to stream the Hindi version of the film directly, skipping a theatrical release, which marks a rare move for a big Telugu project.
Vijay Deverakonda, who aims to bounce back after flops like Liger and The Family Star, leads the cast. He took a break and chose to collaborate with Tinnanuri for this high-budget film. The project remained in production for over two and a half years. Now, the makers are actively pushing promotions and accelerating post-production to meet the release date. Naga Vamsi has produced Kingdom under the Sithara Entertainments banner.
Mass Jathara OTT Deal and Highlights
Director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, making his debut, leads Mass Jathara, which features Ravi Teja and Sreeleela in the lead. The team has scheduled the theatrical release for August 27, 2025. According to multiple reports, Netflix secured the streaming rights for around Rs 20 crore.
Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya produced this action entertainer under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film reunites Ravi Teja and Sreeleela after their hit pairing in Dhamaka. In late 2024, the team released the first poster, which showcased Ravi Teja in a rugged cop look, promising a mass-appeal storyline packed with energy.
The soundtrack includes the vibrant song Tu Mera Lover, sung by Ravi Teja and Sreeleela. Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music, and Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar penned the lyrics. The team expects the music to elevate the festive feel surrounding the release.
Netflix’s Telugu Expansion Strategy
Netflix has aggressively pursued Telugu-language content as part of its regional growth plan. In January 2025, the platform unveiled a new Telugu content lineup that included Kingdom (then known as VD12) and Mass Jathara. While neither Netflix nor the producers have officially confirmed the deal amounts, insiders suggest that Netflix made a strong push to lock in these high-profile titles early.
By locking post-theatrical streaming rights for both films, Netflix continues to strengthen its presence among South Indian movie audiences around the world.
