King Nagarjuna Akkineni is a wholesome entertainer ‘Na Samiranga’. The film, which is being introduced as a director by famous choreographer Vijay Binny, is creating huge buzz with its impressive promotional content. Srinivasa Chitturi is producing this movie with high budget on Srinivasa Silver Screen. Grand release worldwide on 14th January as my Samiranga Sankranti gift. In this context, director Vijay Binni shared the features of the film in a press conference.
How did you turn from a choreographer to a director?
I came into the industry to become a director. After watching the movie Nuvuvostana Naenoddantaana, Annie Crofts did well, thinking that a choreographer would have that grip, I went towards choreography for a few years.
Did you find it difficult to direct a big star like Nagarjuna in your first film?
I have done songs for Nagarjuna earlier. We were very happy making the movie. I was fortunate to make my first film as a director with Nagarjuna.
Choreography is different and direction is different.. Did you feel pressured to do both?
Nope. I have been interested in direction since the beginning. Choreography is also more story-telling songs and I have done montages. This opportunity came at the right time. Everything went smoothly without any trouble.
How did you get into this project?
First I told him the story of doing a film with Nagarjuna. Then he told me about this story and told me to direct this project. Then I borrowed this story and made it in my own style. There are many highs in this movie. Vintage Nagarjuna appears. I feel that I have presented Nagarjuna as differently as I wanted to show him.
About the roles of Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun?
This is a friendship movie. Naresh is crazy about Nagarjuna. I thought it would be good to include both of them in this story. Naresh did a great job, there should be another young actor along with him. We took Raj Tarun for that role. There is one story for three people. How are these stories connected? The situations between them are very new.
How happy is Nagarjuna about your work?
Nagarjuna is very happy. He has worked with many directors. It would be good if Nagarjuna would tell me what is my specialty. With this film, I learned how quickly a film can be completed if the artist supports it. Nagarjuna garu and Naresh garu Raj Tarun supported wonderfully.
We heard that there is an item song surprise in this?
There are many surprises. They all have to be seen on screen (laughs).
This is the film made by Keeravani Garu after receiving the Oscar award.. What was your experience of working with him as the director of the first film?
Keeravani was very supportive. Never looked like a new director. I am a choreographer so I have music sense. It was thought that whatever was said to him, he would say it with a sense. I can’t forget his support. So far three songs have become super hits. The next three songs will also go viral.
What is the background of this movie?
Friendship, a good love story, very good emotion. This is a story that takes place between 80-90.
Whose idea was my Samiranga title?
Na Samiranga is a popular song in ANR’s movie. This is a decision made by all together that it would be good if it was a title.
They worked very fast for this film, didn’t they feel the pressure?
My dream is to be a director. I worked hard for that dream. This movie came at the right time. Tried to give it my best. I tried my own style in the commercial itself. It is definitely unique. The audience likes it.
About the producers?
Makers are very supportive. Everything is provided. That’s why the movie was done so smoothly.
Did you do the choreography in this?
I did it for four songs. One song was mastered by Vijay and the other by Dinesh.
What kind of genre films do you want to do?
All genre movies are to be done.
