Veteran Tollywood actor Mohan Babu, celebrated for his 40-year film career, is now embroiled in serious legal and personal challenges. Known for his discipline, his recent family issues involving his children—Vishnu, Manoj, and Lakshmi Manchu—have sparked widespread controversy. Reports suggest that a property dispute between Mohan Babu and his second son Manoj has worsened. Allegedly, Manoj received a smaller share of assets when Mohan Babu distributed his property, leading to tensions and public disagreements.
Licensed Guns Surrendered Following Police Notice
A recent fight between Mohan Babu and Manoj resulted in police intervention. Following complaints, the Rachakonda police ordered Mohan Babu to surrender his licensed firearms as a safety measure. The actor complied by handing over two guns—a double-barrel gun and a Spanish-made firearm—to the Chandragiri police in Andhra Pradesh. Both firearms were registered in Tirupati district.

Rachakonda CP Clarifies on Arrest Plans
Speaking about the case, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police (CP) G. Sudheer Babu confirmed that three FIRs have been registered against the Manchu family due to ongoing disputes. Notices were issued to Mohan Babu, and he has been granted court relief until December 24 to cooperate with the investigation. The CP emphasized that failure to respond to these notices will result in Mohan Babu’s arrest.
Assault Allegation Adds to Legal Woes
The situation intensified when Mohan Babu was accused of assaulting a TV journalist during a heated incident at his Jalpally residence. When questioned about his family feud, the actor reportedly struck journalist Ranjith with a microphone. Following public backlash, Mohan Babu issued an unconditional apology to the journalist.
Ongoing Investigation and Media Storm
Authorities are verifying additional details, including Mohan Babu’s recent visit to a hospital to meet the injured journalist and his travel to Chittoor, which he attributed to health issues. With family tensions and legal troubles escalating, the Manchu family dispute has become a topic of intense media attention. The police investigation continues, and further action will depend on Mohan Babu’s response to future notices.
