Mass Jathara Release Postponed Due to Film Workers’ Strike

By TeluguFunda / August 16, 2025

The highly awaited Ravi Teja starrer Mass Jathara has hit a major roadblock. The makers scheduled the film for release on August 27, but reports now confirm that they will postpone the release because of the ongoing film workers’ strike in the Telugu film industry. The strike began on August 4 and has disrupted multiple shoots, with Mass Jathara turning out to be one of the biggest projects affected.

Strike Stalls Mass Jathara Shoot

Industry insiders reveal that the team planned to complete the final schedule in August. The schedule included a few talkie portions and two grand song sequences. However, the sudden strike stopped the makers midway with crucial work still pending. With only days left before the release date, the team finds it impossible to complete both shoot and post-production on time.

Sources indicate that the strike may end next week. Even if that happens, the team still cannot wrap up the project within the original timeline. As a result, the makers decided to delay the release and promised to announce a new date soon.

Ravi Teja Banks Big on Mass Jathara

Director Bhanu Bogavarapu presents Mass Jathara as a full-fledged mass entertainer. Ravi Teja plays a cop and shares screen space with Sreeleela, who plays the female lead. The teaser, which the team released earlier this month, earned a lukewarm response. The makers already released two songs composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.

Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya produce the film under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, while Srikara Studios presents it. The technical team features Vidhu Ayyanna as cinematographer, Navin Nooli as editor, and Nagendra Tangala as production designer.

Crucial Release for Ravi Teja

Ravi Teja treats Mass Jathara as a crucial release. He has not appeared in theatres for exactly a year. He last acted in Mr Bachchan, which Harish Shankar directed and released on August 15 last year. His pairing with Sreeleela earlier gave the box office hit Dhamaka (2022), which raised expectations once again.

Meanwhile, Ravi Teja also started shooting for Kishore Tirumala’s family drama, which will release next year. For now, fans must wait longer to see Mass Maharaj in action, as the team will lock the release date only after the strike ends.
