A fresh controversy has exploded between Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manoj, reigniting their long-standing family feud. This time, the clash appears to be heading straight into a serious legal war. Vishnu directly accused people close to Manoj of stealing a hard disk that holds over 90 minutes of vital footage from his upcoming mythological film Kannappa, which hits theatres on June 27.
Hard Disk Theft Triggers New Family Rift
During a recent Kannappa promotional event in Chennai, Vishnu raised serious allegations. He explained that the missing hard drive contains crucial action scenes and VFX work from the film. According to him, a VFX facility in Mumbai sent the hard drive to their office in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. An office boy named Raghu received it and then handed it over to a woman named Charitha, who, Vishnu claims, works with Manoj’s team.
Vishnu said, “I suspect Raghu works for my brother Manoj. But I don’t know if Manoj instructed him to take the hard disk.” He also urged fans not to watch any leaked footage if it appears online. Vishnu noted that the hard disk uses password protection, making it extremely hard to access the content without permission.
Hyderabad Police File Legal Case
After receiving a complaint from the executive producer of 24 Frames Factory, the Hyderabad Police filed a case at Film Nagar Police Station on May 25 under Section 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for criminal breach of trust. The complaint clearly states that Raghu and Charitha took the hard drive without permission and with harmful intent.
The producer’s team claims that Raghu and Charitha knowingly tried to damage the project and possibly leak the footage. The police have already begun their investigation. Meanwhile, Vishnu has started using every legal and personal option available to retrieve the stolen content before the movie’s release.
Mohan Babu Remains Silent Amid Family Storm
Adding more fuel to the fire, veteran actor and father Mohan Babu has chosen to stay silent about the matter. He hasn’t issued any statements despite the serious claims and rising tensions. Vishnu continues to promote Kannappa across cities, while Manoj hasn’t reacted to any of the accusations so far.
With the legal fight heating up and the film’s release date just weeks away, the Manchu brothers’ public feud has grabbed industry-wide attention. This dispute could impact not only the film’s performance but also the Manchu family’s reputation in the Telugu film industry.
