The animated mythological film Mahavatar Narsimha is shaking up the box office with a massive 400% growth in Hindi collections from Friday to Sunday. Hombale Films released the film, while Kleem Productions produced it. The film has quickly become one of the biggest surprise hits of 2025, especially in the Hindi market. Within just three days, it earned Rs 11.25 crore in Hindi, making it the first animated mythological hit in nearly two decades.

400% Box Office Jump: A Rare Phenomenon in Hindi Animation

The movie opened with Rs 1.35 crore on Friday. Positive word-of-mouth and increasing public interest boosted collections to Rs 3.25 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, the earnings jumped again to Rs 6.65–Rs 7 crore. These numbers brought the total to Rs 11.25 crore for the opening weekend in Hindi. This 400% growth in just three days marks a rare and exceptional trend for any theatrical release, especially in Indian animation.

Hindi Audience Embraces Animated Mythology After Hanuman

Director Ashwin Kumar retells the legendary story of Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar through powerful visuals and storytelling. The film’s strong mythological theme and quality animation attracted both families and children, who usually prefer international animated content. With this response, Mahavatar Narsimha became the first Hindi animated film since Hanuman (2005) to strongly connect with viewers. Industry experts even believe this film may outperform Hanuman, which only managed to achieve semi-hit status.

More Shows, Bigger Response

Theatres across the Hindi market expanded the film’s screening schedule due to high demand. They increased show counts from 800 on Friday to 1,100 on Saturday, and then to 2,000 on Sunday. With growing buzz, early estimates suggest Monday’s collections will go beyond Friday’s numbers. In just three days, the film secured HIT status. If this trend continues, it could reach SUPER-HIT or even BLOCKBUSTER status in the upcoming weeks.

A New Franchise Begins: Mahavatar Cinematic Universe Announced

Encouraged by Mahavatar Narsimha’s success, Hombale Films and Kleem Productions launched a large-scale Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. They announced the following upcoming titles in the franchise:

Mahavatar Parshuram (2027)

Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029)

Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh (2031)

Mahavatar Gokulananda (2033)

Mahavatar Kalki (2035–2037)

These seven films will span the next 12 years, making this one of the most ambitious animation franchises in Indian cinema.

Hombale Films Adds Another Hit to Its Hindi Success List

With this film, Hombale Films adds another big success to its Hindi lineup, joining blockbusters like KGF, KGF 2, Salaar, and Kantara. The studio now prepares for the release of Kantara: Chapter 1 on October 2, continuing its strong run in the pan-India market—this time with animated mythology leading the charge.
