Director Krish Jagarlamudi has finally spoken out about his much-discussed exit from Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM). For years, both the filmmaker and the production team kept silent on the matter, which led fans to speculate endlessly. Now, while promoting his upcoming film Ghaati, Krish has given a clear explanation of what really happened.
Why Krish Left Hari Hara Veera Mallu
Krish revealed that he left the project because of production delays, the impact of Covid-19, and personal struggles. During that period, he filed for divorce and went through a rough patch in his personal life. These challenges, along with repeated schedule changes after Covid-19, forced him to step away from the film.
He stressed that he never had creative differences or clashes with the makers. “I have immense respect for Pawan Kalyan garu and producer A.M. Rathnam garu. Rathnam garu’s films actually inspired me to enter cinema. But the schedules kept shifting after Covid-19, and at the same time, I was dealing with personal reasons. That is why I had to step away,” Krish explained.
Transition After Krish’s Exit
By the time Krish exited, he had already completed more than half of the film. After he moved on, A.M. Jyothi Krishna, son of Rathnam, took over the project and finished it. The makers credited Krish in the film and in promotions, but he chose not to attend interviews or pre-release events. HHVM finally released on July 24 after years of delay, and audiences gave it a mixed response at the box office.
Krish’s Full Focus on Ghaati
Krish has now devoted his complete energy to Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty. The film will release pan-India on September 5, 2025. The story, which revolves around the ganja mafia, unfolds from a woman’s perspective. Krish said he believed this perspective would bring out stronger emotions. He also praised Anushka’s grace and stardom, adding that her presence elevates the film’s scale.
The cast includes Chaitanya Rao, Jisshu Sengupta, John Vijay, Ravindra Vijay, Devika Priyadarshini, and VTV Ganesh. At a recent press meet, Krish officially launched promotions along with actors Jagapathi Babu and Vikram Prabhu.
A Fresh Chapter
After setbacks caused by HHVM’s delays and his personal struggles, Krish has returned to filmmaking with renewed passion. His candid confession has ended all speculation about his exit from Hari Hara Veera Mallu. With Ghaati, he promises a powerful story, strong emotions, and memorable performances.
