Kingdom makes Rs 39 crore worldwide on Day 1, marking a powerful comeback for Vijay Deverakonda and giving him his highest opening ever. Gowtam Tinnanuri directed this emotional action drama, which hit theatres on a non-holiday Thursday and still delivered an impressive box office performance. Sithara Entertainments officially confirmed that the film earned over Rs 39 crore globally on its first day. The news created a storm of excitement among fans and trade experts.
Strong Opening on a Non-Holiday Release
Although the film released on a working day, Kingdom earned Rs 15.50 crore net in India (early estimates via Sacnilk). It also made over Rs 9.92 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone (excluding GST). Many found this strong start surprising, especially with no holiday advantage.
Kingdom’s Day 1 gross of Rs 39 crore already crossed the total lifetime earnings of Vijay’s previous films, Dear Comrade (Rs 37 crore) and The Family Star (Rs 30.65 crore). The film also outperformed the opening day collections of Liger (Rs 24.20 crore), Kushi (Rs 25.85 crore), and The Family Star (Rs 12 crore), making it the actor’s biggest-ever opener.
Trade Buzz and Producer’s Prediction
Producer Naga Vamsi told the media that the film would earn around Rs 40 crore by the end of Day 1, and his prediction nearly hit the mark. He mentioned that overseas viewers had already contributed 50% of the film’s sold value abroad. He also noted strong collections in Rayalaseema and the Nizam region. According to him, Kingdom earned around Rs 7-8 crore gross in Nizam alone.
What Kingdom Offers
Kingdom tells the story of Suri, a police constable turned spy, played by Vijay Deverakonda. The Indian government sends him to Sri Lanka on a mission, and during the mission, he searches for his long-lost brother Siva (played by Satyadev). Venkitesh plays the main villain Murugan, while Bhagyashri Borse appears as Dr. Madhu. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for the film.
What’s Next for Kingdom?
With this roaring start, analysts expect the film to perform even better over the weekend. Fans are spreading positive word-of-mouth, and the hype continues to grow. Celebrating the milestone, Vijay Deverakonda reshared the official update and wrote, “BOOM. Manam Kottinam” (We have a hit). Kingdom opened with a bang. If it continues this strong momentum, it could become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025.
