Karuppu: Latest Buzz on Suriya’s Film Release Window

After a series of theatrical releases that failed to meet audience expectations, Suriya is gearing up for his next big-screen appearance with Karuppu. The film is directed by actor-turned-filmmaker RJ Balaji and has already generated positive buzz, especially after its teaser received a strong response from fans.

Initially planned for a Diwali 2025 release, Karuppu was postponed due to extensive CGI work. Now, according to the latest buzz in Kollywood circles, the makers are eyeing a February 2026 theatrical release. Reports suggest that a Pongal release was also considered, but the plan was dropped as two major films Jana Nayagan and Parasakthi were already locked in for the festive season.

An official announcement regarding the release date is still awaited. The film stars Trisha as the female lead and is produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner. Music for the film is composed by rising sensation Sai Abhyankkar.
