Karthi and Arvind Swami will be seen as cousins in ‘Sathyam Sundaram’, the Telugu-dubbed version of ‘Meiyazhagan’ (Tamil). The comedy-drama, brimming with bromance, will arrive at the cinemas on September 28th (a day after Jr NTR’s ‘Devara’).
Directed by C Prem Kumar of ’96’ fame, the film is produced by Suriya and Jyothika on the 2D Entertainment banner. Its Teaser is simple and bereft of typical sensibilities.
Karthi’s character, with his naivete and pure innocence, is over-friendly toward his ‘bava’. Arvind Swami plays a city-bred guy who encounters adjustment issues and is probably facing some unexpressed trouble. It will be fun to watch this contrasting drama just a day after the violent ‘Devara’ in theatres.
Also starring Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, and Devadarshini, the film has cinematography by Mahendiran Jayaraju and music by Govind Vasantha. Edited by R Govindraj, the film’s Telugu version will be released in theatres by Asian Suresh Entertainment.
Director C Prem Kumar expects ‘Sathyam Sundaram’ to do pretty well. If it finds commercial success, he will proceed to do a sequel to ’96’, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan.
