Kamal Haasan has asked the media, the film fraternity, and fans to avoid using titles like ‘Ulaganayagan’ for him. He wants to be simply called Kamal Haasan, Kamal, or KH.
In a statement on Monday, the legendary actor wrote, “The art of cinema transcends beyond any one individual. It is my humble belief that the artist must not be elevated above the art. I prefer to remain grounded, constantly aware of my imperfections and my duty to improve. Hence, after considerable reflection, I feel compelled to respectfully decline all such titles or prefixes.”
Kamal Haasan’s next theatrical release is Thug Life. The film will arrive at the cinemas on June 5th, 2025. It is directed by Mani Ratnam. Kamal Haasan is one of its producers. The actor-producer’s latest release, ‘Amaran’, has minted R 250 Cr (worldwide gross so far).
