The Trailer for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was dropped by Vyjayanthi Movies on the evening of June 10th (Monday). Director Nag Ashwin has palpably designed a suspenseful character for Prabhas.
From the Trailer, it is not clear whether he is a mere bounty hunter. There must be something more to him. “Who is Bhairava (Prabhas) really? Is he just a selfish bounty hunter who wants to live happily in the Complex or a person with an ulterior motive? And is there sarcasm intended in the scene where he says that he has no history of losing a fight? Is he actually talking about the fight against the Complex and not against Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan)?” asks Aesthetics of Telugu Cinema, a social media handle that has put in a sincere effort at decoding the scintillating Trailer.
Prabhas’ character was not straightforward in ‘Saaho’ as well. But that film was confusing. The screenplay was not fine-tuned. Nag Ashwin can be trusted to have avoided that folly. Rest, we will know on June 27th (Thursday), the release date.
