Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati in their capacities as an actor and producer, respectively, have united for an epic film titled ‘Kaantha’. The film has been launched and commenced its shoot today (September 9th). Here is what we know about the ambitious project so far:
A Pan-Indian Collaboration
The ‘Sita Ramam’ actor is setting out on a distinct journey with ‘Kaantha’, which is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj (who worked in the crew of ‘Life Of Pi’). Joining forces with the ‘Mahanati’ actor is the budding actress Bhagyashri Borse, known for her generic, glamorous role in the recent Telugu movie ‘Mr. Bachchan’. Samuthirakani has a prominent role.
A Dream Team Behind the Scenes
‘Kaantha’ is backed by a powerhouse production team, including Rana Daggubati, Dulquer himself, Prashanth Potluri and Jom Varghese. This dream collaboration will hopefully put together a visually pleasing and high-quality production.
Art and Innovation
As per Spirit Media, one of the production houses behind the project, ‘Kaantha’ brings to the audience a story that blends artistic storytelling and innovative filmmaking.
Written by Tamizh Prabha, the film has music by Jhanu and cinematography by Dani Sanchez Lopez. It is edited by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.
A Period Drama
The film is set in the 1950s Madras. The story, as per the makers, “explores the complexities of human relationships and societal change during a dynamic period in history”.
The film was in the works for more than a year on the pre-production front. Elaborate pre-viz must have gone into it.
