Jr NTR-Trivikram Mythology Film to Be ‘Bigger Than Ramayana’, Confirms Naga Vamsi

Producer Naga Vamsi has shared exciting new details about the upcoming mythology-based film featuring Jr NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas. While promoting his next production Kingdom, Vamsi revealed that this new project will become a massive cinematic experience, one that could surpass Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

According to Vamsi, after watching the Ramayana announcement video, Trivikram decided to raise the bar. He told Vamsi, “Let’s take more time and make it bigger than this.” Following that vision, the team chose to delay the announcement of their film. They are now focusing fully on detailed pre-production to match the epic scale they have imagined.

Jr NTR Takes on a Divine Role for the First Time

One of the most exciting aspects of this film is Jr NTR’s role. For the first time in his career, he will portray a mythological God, reportedly Lord Karthikeya. Vamsi expressed how emotionally connected he feels to this project. He explained that legendary actor Sr NTR played several divine roles in classic films, and now Jr NTR will continue that legacy.

Vamsi, who considers Jr NTR his “favourite hero,” promised that the entire team will give their best to the script, the visuals, and the performance.

Team Starts Pre-Production, Shoot Set for 2026

Vamsi confirmed that the team has already started pre-production. They are planning every element, from grand sets to costume design and VFX, with great care. They aim to begin shooting in the second half of 2026, once Trivikram wraps up his current film with Venkatesh.

Though the team hasn’t officially revealed the title, insiders suggest the name could be “God of War.” The makers plan to keep everything under wraps until they’re ready for a spectacular reveal.

Kingdom Gears Up for July 31 Release

As fans wait eagerly for more news on the mythological epic, Vamsi is busy with his current production Kingdom, which stars Vijay Deverakonda and releases on July 31. Gowtam Tinnanuri directed this intense drama, which takes place in a fictional, military-ruled Sri Lanka. The story follows themes of rebellion and survival.

The teaser, which includes voiceovers by Jr NTR (Telugu), Ranbir Kapoor (Hindi), and Suriya (Tamil), has already created buzz across multiple languages.

With all signs pointing toward something historic, Trivikram and Jr NTR are clearly planning a once-in-a-generation mythological spectacle, a film that aims to stand tall beside even the mighty Ramayana.
