In an age where social media and artificial intelligence have made celebrity identities increasingly vulnerable to misuse, star actor Jr NTR has taken a decisive legal step to safeguard his personal and professional identity.

Popularly known as the Man of Masses, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr. recently approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection against the unauthorised commercial and digital exploitation of his name, image, and persona. Acting on his petition, the Hon’ble Delhi High Court has granted legal protection to the actor’s personality and publicity rights, acknowledging the immense commercial and reputational value attached to his identity.

The Court noted Jr NTR’s stature as a leading public figure and observed that his name and likeness including “NTR,” “Tarak,” “Jr. NTR,” “NTR Jr,” and his full name Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr. are uniquely associated with him in the public domain. The order also recognised popular sobriquets such as “Man of Masses” and “Young Tiger” as identifiers inseparably linked to the actor.

Directing strict action, the Court ruled that any unauthorised commercial use of these identifiers across digital platforms or other channels must be taken down in accordance with applicable laws. The protection has also been extended against unknown and anonymous entities, restraining them from misusing or exploiting Jr NTR’s identity in any form.

The Court further warned that any misuse, misrepresentation, or activity that damages the actor’s reputation would invite serious legal consequences and be punishable under law.

This landmark order reinforces the growing importance of personality rights in the digital era and sets a strong precedent for protecting celebrities against identity misuse.
