JD Chakravarthy is back with a vengeance in Gaayapadda Simham, unleashing his signature intensity as the ruthless “Brutal Dharma” a role that’s already sending shivers down spines in first-look posters.
Directed by rising star Krishna Vamsi, the film pits Chakravarthy against a ensemble cast led by Nani in the titular gaayapadda (cowherd) warrior avatar. Teasers reveal Brutal Dharma as a cold-blooded enforcer, wielding a massive urumi blade in gore-soaked revenge sequences that echo Chakravarthy’s iconic villainy from Simhadri and Pokiri.
“JD sir embodies pure menace,” gushed producer Dil Raju at the muhurat. “Brutal Dharma isn’t just evil – he’s Dharma twisted by betrayal, making audiences root and recoil.” Filming wrapped in Pollachi’s rugged hills, with high-octane bull-chasing fights and a pulsating score by Devi Sri Prasad.
Fans are hyped: BrutalDharma trends on X with 2M views, comparisons to Jagapathi Babu’s mass roles flying. OTT whispers point to Amazon Prime post-theatrical, but theaters first – Sankranti 2027 release eyed for ₹100Cr+ opening.
Chakravarthy, 54 and fitter than ever, trains in Kalaripayattu for authenticity. “This character’s brutality mirrors real-world Dharma – protect at any cost,” he told Idlebrain. Co-starring Mrunal Thakur as the fierce love interest, expect fireworks.
