Jaahnavi Kandula’s Father Passes Away Just Two Days Before ₹262 Crore Settlement Announcement

It has been more than three years since the tragic death of Jaahnavi Kandula in Seattle, where she lost her life after being struck by a speeding police vehicle. The heartbreaking incident deeply affected the Telugu community worldwide, with many continuing to express sympathy and solidarity with the grieving family.

In a major development, the City of Seattle has reportedly agreed to a compensation settlement of $29 million for Jaahnavi’s family. This amount translates to approximately ₹262 crore in Indian currency, marking one of the most significant payouts in such cases.

However, in a deeply sorrowful turn of events, another tragedy has struck the family.

According to national media reports, Jaahnavi’s father, Srikanth Kandula, passed away just two days before the compensation announcement was made public. Srikanth had been serving as a police constable in the Andhra Pradesh regiment. Following his daughter’s untimely demise, he reportedly took an extended leave as he struggled to cope with the immense emotional trauma.

Sources suggest that Srikanth never fully recovered from the shock and grief of losing his daughter. The emotional toll is said to have severely impacted his health, ultimately leading to his untimely passing.

While the financial settlement may offer some measure of legal closure, it cannot compensate for the devastating loss the family has endured losing both a daughter and a father within the span of this prolonged tragedy.
