Trivikram Srinivas has ignited a discussion among fans and critics alike with his bold claim that Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s nationwide popularity rivals that of the legendary Rajinikanth.
Speaking at an event, Trivikram asserted that both Samantha and Rajinikanth enjoy immense fan followings across India. However, this comparison has raised eyebrows, as many argue that while Samantha is widely popular, her stardom doesn’t quite match the iconic status of Rajinikanth, to be seen in this week’s ‘Vettaiyan’ (October 10th release).
The thing is, Samantha hasn’t had a great experience with female-centric movies. ‘Baby’ did well but her films like ‘U-Turn’, ‘Shaakuntalam’ have fared terribly. Had she been a superstar of the Rajinikanth variety, ‘Yashoda’ would have been a blockbuster in at least two languages. But that was not the case.
Trivikram made the remarks at the pre-release event of the Telugu version of ‘Jigra’ in Hyderabad. ‘Jigra’ stars Alia Bhatt in the lead. The ‘RRR’ actress and Samantha had a good time expressing their admiration for each other’s talent.
