By TeluguFunda / December 10, 2025

The ongoing disruption in IndiGo’s operations has intensified, prompting another round of meetings between the airline’s top management and the Ministry of Civil Aviation. With large-scale cancellations, mismanagement concerns, and mounting passenger frustration, the issue has now reached a critical stage.

Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu shared an important update on the situation, highlighting the government’s immediate steps to restore stability.

Over the past week, thousands of passengers were affected due to IndiGo’s internal lapses involving crew rostering, flight scheduling, and inadequate communication. While inquiries and corrective measures are in progress, the Ministry held another review meeting with IndiGo’s leadership to assess the stabilization process.

For the second time, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers was summoned today to brief the Ministry. He informed officials that refunds for all flights cancelled up to December 6 have been fully processed. The Ministry has instructed IndiGo to speed up the remaining refunds and ensure prompt delivery of delayed baggage.

To contain further disruptions, the government has deemed it necessary to curtail IndiGo’s overall operations by 10%, a temporary measure aimed at stabilizing the airline’s network and reducing cancellations. Despite this reduction, IndiGo will continue to serve all its current destinations.

The Ministry has also issued clear directives for IndiGo to strictly adhere to fare capping rules and all passenger-centric guidelines, without exception.

With the airline now under close scrutiny, the government expects swift compliance and smoother operations in the coming days.
