Hindi film ‘Chhaava’ postponed to avoid clash with ‘Pushpa 2’

Hindi film 'Chhaava' postponed to avoid clash with 'Pushpa 2'

Maddock Films has decided to postpone the release of their Bollywood film, ‘Chhaava’, starring Vicky Kaushal. The decision comes in light of a potential box office clash with Allu Arjun’s pan-India blockbuster, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The Hindi film will arrive at the cinemas on January 10, 2025.

Incidentally, Rashmika Mandanna is the heroine of ‘Chhaava’, like she is of ‘Pushpa 2’.

The historical epic film, based on the life of Maratha king Sambhaji, didn’t get enough single screens in Maharashtra and a few States in the Hindi belt. Exhibitors are preferring ‘Pushpa 2’ and not the Bollywood film. That’s why the makers decided to shift their movie to next year. This postponement allows ‘Chhaava’ to have a solo release and potentially garner a larger audience without facing competition from another major film.

‘Pushpa 2’ is on track to be released in theatres on December 5th, 2024.
