In a surprising revelation, Telangana politician and businessman Malla Reddy disclosed that director Harish Shankar offered him ₹3 crore to play the villain in the highly anticipated Pawan Kalyan film Ustaad Bhagat Singh (UBS). However, despite the generous offer, Malla Reddy turned down the role.
Speaking about his decision in a recent interview, Malla Reddy explained his discomfort with the typical villain’s role in films. He said, “Till the interval, I would be scolding the hero, and in the second half, the hero would start abusing and beating me. That’s why I rejected the role.” His candid remarks have sparked conversations online, with many appreciating his frankness and strong stance on accepting film roles.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh is directed by Harish Shankar and stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. It is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster Theri but has evolved into a fresh script. The film is currently in the final stages of production, with notable stars like Sreeleela and Rashi Khanna also in the cast. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film features music by Devi Sri Prasad.
Malla Reddy’s refusal stands out as an interesting episode, highlighting his preference to avoid stereotypical portrayals despite lucrative offers. The role eventually went to a different actor, and fans eagerly await the film’s release.
