Government, TFI move the needle on Gaddar Awards

Gaddar Awards are the state awards given by the Telangana government to Telugu film industry talents. They will make a debut this December. Recently, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy asked the elders of Tollywood to reach out to the administration to get things going.

The news is that a committee has been formed to move the needle. B Narasinga Rao is its Chairman. Senior producer Dil Raju functions as vice chairman. Veteran filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao, Telangana anthem writer Ande Sri, Thammareddy Bharadwaja, Geetha Arts’ supremo Allu Aravind, Gummadi Vennela, veteran artist Tanikella Bharani, producer D Suresh Babu, awarded lyricist Chandrabose, Narayana Murthy, composer Vandemataram Srinivas, and others have been appointed. Among the younger generation, directors Harish Shankar and ‘Balagam’ Venu are also part of the committee.

The inaugural awards ceremony is going to be held in December. Chiranjeevi and the film industry bodies like TFPC and TFCC are working in the background.
