This gathering was significant as it marked one of Gautam Gambhir’s first such initiatives since taking over as India’s head coach last year. While known for his serious approach on the field, Gambhir places importance on team spirit off the field, especially with a young squad in transition.

India entered this Test series with momentum following a dominant win in the first Test at Ahmedabad, where they defeated the West Indies by an innings and 140 runs.
