Popular folk singer Mangli now faces serious legal trouble after police reportedly found ganja and foreign liquor at her birthday party held at Tripura Resort in Chevella, near Hyderabad. After receiving a tip-off, police raided the resort during the late-night celebration and uncovered several violations.
According to officials, the Chevella Police and Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted the raid around 2 a.m. during Mangli’s party. Police said she organized the event without getting police permission, and she served foreign liquor without receiving approval from the excise department. During the raid, they caught a person named Damodar smoking ganja and immediately took him into custody.
Mangli Violated Rules by Hosting Unauthorized Party
Police booked Mangli for organizing the party without proper permissions and serving liquor illegally. She did not approach the police or the excise department for required approvals. Police also filed a case against the General Manager of Tripura Resort for letting the event take place without necessary licenses.
Police Target Celebrities, Confiscate DJ Equipment
Several of Mangli’s friends and film industry celebrities, including singer Divi and lyricist Kasarla Shyam, attended the party. Police have now placed them under scrutiny and plan to send them notices as part of the investigation. Officers also confiscated the DJ sound equipment, saying the organizers used it without having a sound permit.
Police Test Partygoers for Drug Consumption
As part of their investigation, police conducted drug tests on 48 attendees to check for drug consumption. They have not yet released the results. Officers aim to identify others who might have used narcotics during the party.
Police Tighten Grip on Resort Parties Near Hyderabad
Police have launched a broader crackdown on drug-related activities in private spaces. Teams from Cyberabad Police, Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), and Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGNAB) are closely monitoring resorts, pubs, hotels, and farmhouses around Hyderabad. They want to stop the rising trend of drug usage at such events.
Police officials confirmed that they will take strict action against everyone involved in illegal activities at Mangli’s party. The investigation continues.
