The pre-release event for Ram Charan’s eagerly awaited film Game Changer turned tragic when two fans lost their lives in a road accident on December 4, 2024. The event took place in Rajahmundry, and despite the excitement surrounding the film, the tragedy overshadowed the celebration.
Accident Details
The victims, Arava Manikanta (23) and Thokada Charan (22), were from Kakinada district. They were traveling home on a bike when a van collided head-on with them near Vadisaleru at around 9:30 pm. The two fans were immediately rushed to Peddapuram Hospital, but both succumbed to their injuries.
Condolences and Support
Producer Dil Raju expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of the two fans. He said, “I just learned that after the event, two members tragically passed away on their way back. This is deeply saddening.” He also shared how Pawan Kalyan had asked if there was an alternative to the event, given the tragedy. However, both Ram Charan and Dil Raju felt the event should go on. Dil Raju further pledged Rs. 5 lakh each to the families of the victims as a token of support. Pawan Kalyan, the chief guest of the event, also announced a financial aid of Rs. 5 lakh for each family.

The event, attended by Ram Charan and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, saw a huge turnout of fans, demonstrating the high anticipation for Game Changer. Pawan Kalyan gave an emotional speech, expressing gratitude to his brother, Chiranjeevi, for his success. The event also highlighted the excitement for the movie, which stars Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and SJ Suryah.

Road Conditions and Criticism
After the accident, Pawan Kalyan also addressed the poor condition of the ADB Road between Kakinada and Rajahmundry, which has been in disrepair for years. He criticized the previous government for neglecting the road, which lacked proper maintenance and lighting, making it prone to accidents. The road is now being repaired, ensuring better safety for travelers.
Ticket Price Hike and Box Office Potential
To add to the excitement, the Andhra Pradesh government has approved a hike in ticket prices for Game Changer from January 11 to January 23, 2025. The price for multiplex tickets will increase by Rs. 175, while single-screen tickets will go up by Rs. 135. Theatres will also host five shows daily during this period, enhancing the film’s box office potential.
