Fans of Drishyam have a reason to celebrate, Jeethu Joseph has officially confirmed that Drishyam 3 is ready to roll. The much-awaited film will serve as the final chapter of Georgekutty’s story, and Mohanlal returns to play the iconic character. The director revealed that he perfected the script after five drafts and will start shooting next month. The team will complete the entire shoot in just 45 days, showing how Mollywood delivers high-quality films with smart planning and reasonable budgets.
Jeethu Joseph’s Creative Journey
In a recent chat with film critic Baradwaj Rangan, Jeethu Joseph described how challenging it felt to get the story right. He said that he drafted one version of the script during a flight from Amsterdam to Dubai and finished the entire scene order before landing. However, he kept rewriting until his daughters approved the story. His persistence allowed him to craft a narrative that continues naturally from where Drishyam 2 ended.
Not Another Mind Game Thriller
Jeethu Joseph directly warned fans not to expect another “high-intelligence game” like the second part. Drishyam 2 kept audiences hooked with Georgekutty’s clever strategies and shocking twists, but Jeethu wants viewers to experience Drishyam 3 differently. He explained that this chapter focuses on Georgekutty’s emotional and personal growth four years later. The story explores how he handles insecurities and faces the consequences of his past decisions.
Balancing Emotion and Suspense
This tonal shift has made some fans anxious, but others believe Jeethu purposely lowered expectations to surprise them with bigger twists. Social media users continue to hope that the film will still mix suspense with deep emotional drama and present Georgekutty’s struggles in a powerful way.
Jeethu Joseph’s Other Projects
Jeethu Joseph has also expressed that he feels tired of repeating thrillers and wants to explore new genres. He will next release Mirage, starring Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali. He recently directed Nunakkuzhi, a comedy-suspense featuring Basil Joseph, which earned strong reviews and did well at the box office. His previous collaboration with Mohanlal, Neru, became a blockbuster hit.
