The much-awaited action drama Dragon, featuring NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel, is finally back on track after months of silence. The project, jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, was initially announced in 2021 but has faced multiple delays in its production timeline.
The team began filming briefly in February, followed by a two-week schedule with NTR in April. After that, the shoot came to a halt, leaving fans eagerly waiting for an update. Now, as December arrives, there is finally good news.
Reliable sources confirm that Dragon which is now expected to be made in two parts is set to resume shooting this Saturday, December 13, marking a return to sets after nearly six months. Initially planned as a single film, the team reportedly reworked the script during the break, leading to the decision to expand it into a two-part saga.
Prashanth Neel has shifted base from Bengaluru to Hyderabad for the new schedule, while NTR, currently in the city, is expected to join soon. This upcoming schedule is said to be extremely intense, involving over 20 consecutive night shoots for a major action sequence.
NTR has undergone a significant physical transformation, appearing in his leanest look yet for the film. The makers aim to shoot both parts simultaneously and plan to complete Part 1 by mid-next year. If all goes as intended, the movie is targeting a release in December 2026 or early 2027.
Adding to the buzz, Prashanth Neel’s wife, Likitha Reddy, recently confirmed the shoot’s restart by sharing a heartfelt Instagram post featuring Neel and their daughter as he left for Hyderabad.
Dragon stars Jr NTR and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead roles, with music composed by Ravi Basrur.
