‘Double iSmart’ struggles to find its Nizam distributor

‘Double iSmart’ is slated to arrive at the cinemas on August 15th (the coming Thursday). You are wrong if you thought the movie’s troubles were behind it.

As per a credible trade report, producers Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur are yet to find their Nizam distributor. The Nizam territory is where their previous movie, ‘Liger’, incurred heavy losses. “No distributor is willing to come forward to release ‘Double iSmart’ due to advance-related dues from the days of ‘Liger’,” a trade analyst said.

What has transpired behind the doors?

It is said that the producers have tried their level best to fork out a solution. But the troubles have refused to die down. Puri wants to release the Ram Pothineni-starring movie on his own terms in Nizam, a crucial market. He believes that the film will take greater openings than ‘Mr. Bachchan’ because it is a sequel to a blockbuster. On the other hand, those who are contenders for the distribution rights are not ready to cede ground.
