Producer Dil Raju finally broke his silence on the disappointing outcome of Game Changer, a film that everyone expected to be a blockbuster after Ram Charan’s global success in RRR. In a recent interview, Dil Raju admitted that he deeply regrets not delivering a hit for Ram Charan after RRR. He described Game Changer as a “wrong step” in his career and revealed that the film caused problems not just for him but for the entire team.
Game Changer Failed to Meet Expectations
Shankar directed Game Changer with a powerful star cast, a massive budget, and high anticipation. Despite all this, the film failed to impress at the box office and drew mixed reviews. Ram Charan took on a dual role, but couldn’t recreate the success of RRR. Dil Raju pointed out that problems started early and stemmed from poor planning.
He revealed that the film originally ran for over seven hours. The team later trimmed it down to three and a half hours, which led to confusion. “Big directors often bring big challenges. But I should’ve handled things more smartly,” he admitted.
Dil Raju Accepts Full Responsibility
Dil Raju took complete accountability for the film’s failure. He shared that working with a director like Shankar was new for him, and he failed to set clear terms during the early stages. “I didn’t put my points clearly in the agreement. I rushed into production without proper clarity. That was my mistake,” he confessed. He also noted that making large-scale films with top directors often brings tough situations.
Dil Raju Plans a Comeback with a New Star Hero
Looking ahead, Dil Raju revealed his plan to produce a huge film with a major star. He aims to start production in 2026 and release it in 2027 or 2028. While he hasn’t named the actor officially, strong industry buzz suggests Allu Arjun could lead the project. Dil Raju appears focused on making a strong comeback by avoiding past mistakes.
Ram Charan’s Upcoming Films
Ram Charan has already moved forward with two major films. His next release is Peddi, a sports action drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana, with Janhvi Kapoor playing the female lead. The makers have locked in March 26, 2026, as the release date. The film also features Shivaraj Kumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma in key roles.
Charan also reunited with Sukumar, who earlier directed him in the blockbuster Rangasthalam. Their upcoming collaboration, RC17, is currently in pre-production and already generating a strong buzz.
